Rationale
Purpose to learn the basic concepts of rehabilitation engineering and assist devices and to understand the importance of biomedical engineering in rehabilitation.
Course Outcome
After learning the course the students should be able to:
1. Build basic understanding of Rehabilitation Engineering.
2. Apply basic design principles to model various types of Wheel Chairs for varied needs.
3. Understand various assistive technologies for vision & hearing.
4. To study various orthotic &prosthetic devices for upper and lower extremities.
5. Understand the recent developments in the field of rehabilitation engineering.

Active Learning
Preparation of power-point slides, which include videos, animations, pictures, graphics for better understanding of theory and practical work. The faculty will assign topics from which students can grasp knowledge about current scenario of the Diagnostic Instrumentation. The powerpoint slides should be put up on the web-site of the College/ Institute, along with the names of the students of the group, the name of the faculty, Department and College on the first slide. The best three works should submit to GTU.
