Rationale
Course gives idea about the basic design procedure. Design steps of various mechanical elements are discussed.
Course Outcome
After successful completion of the course the students shall be able to:
a) Understand material-strength relationships.
b) Understand forces acting on various mechanical components and stresses induced in them.
c) Apply the concept of standardization and graphical representation in designing of mechanical components.

Active Learning
Preparation of power-point slides, which include videos, animations, pictures, graphics for better understanding theory and practical work – The faculty will allocate chapters/ part of chapters to groups of students so that the entire syllabus of subject can be covered. The power-point slides should be put up on the web-site of the college/Institute, along with the name of the group, the name of faculty, Department and College on the first slide. The best three works should be sent on achievements@gtu.edu.in.
