Rationale
Knowledge of existing regulations of the country regarding environmental protection is necessary for practicing environmental engineers. Hence the purpose of this subject is to impart the students the knowledge of existing environmental regulations , application of which will be required in their professional life.
Course Outcome
After learning the course the students should be able to:
1. Display the knowledge of constitutional provisions with respect to environmental protection.
2. Support the industries in achieving compliance with environmental laws and regulation.
3. Support the industries in obtaining the clearance for starting new project.
4. Apply the Knowledge of ISO 14000 for obtaining certification.
5. Carry out environmental audit of the industries as per the requirement of current environmental laws.

Active Learning
Preparation of power-point slides, which include videos, animations, pictures, graphics for better understanding theory and practical work – The faculty will allocate chapters/ parts of chapters to groups of students so that the entire syllabus to be covered. The power-point slides should be put up on the web-site of the College/ Institute, along with the names of the students of the group, the name of the faculty, Department and College on the first slide. The best three works should submit to GTU.
